2012 Reclaiming Vacant Properties Conference: "Remaking America for the 21st Century"

JUNE 20, 2012 - 9:00 AM to JUNE 22, 2012 - 5:30 PM ET

Hyatt Regency, New Orleans

Problem or asset? Blight or benefit? Explore the strategies and tools that neighborhoods, cities and states are using to turn the challenge of vacant land and buildings into a foundation on which to build the future.

From rethinking the competitive 21st century city to hands-on techniques for everything from code enforcement to acquisition of property, the Center for Community Progress’s conference will reflect the broadest thinking and experience of those engaged in repairing and rebuilding their communities.

Who will be there? Everyone from government and community leaders to funders, lenders and engaged residents; from those building their way out of crime to those building or rebuilding the next American city!

The conference program will span three full days (Wednesday, June 20-Friday, June 22) with optional preconference programming scheduled during the day on June 20. The schedule will include a stimulating mix of breakouts, specialized trainings, plenaries, and coordinated peer-to-peer learning and networking activities. It will also include inspirational tours of local projects throughout New Orleans.

Whether you’re new to the field or an expert already, you’ll find a program to meet your needs. Registration for the conference is now open!
