Celebrating Policies for Safer Streets

FEBRUARY 18, 2014 - 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM ET

Join representatives from around the country to learn which communities implemented best policies for safer streets in 2013.  The Complete Streets Coalition took a close look at laws, resolutions, executive orders, policies, planning and design features and chose the ones that best created safe and accessible spaces for travelers, regardless of their mode of travel, age, ability, income or ethnicity. The evaluation is based on 10 factors such as community vision, project types and implementation strategies.

The goal of the Complete Streets Coalition is to help communities plan, construct and operate streets that are safe and accessible to all users including those preferring public transportation, biking, walking and driving. More than 80 communities passed Complete Streets policies in 2013 and this online forum will highlight best practices, plus share ideas on how communities can create great policies of their own.
