Community Recovery and Resilience

JANUARY 9, 2015 - 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM ET

Washington, DC

Communities must work hard to become more resilient to physical, social and economic threats and stay protected against various stressors. This session offered by HUD will highlight model communities from around the country that are demonstrating smart planning and how that is making a difference and protecting social and economic viability. Participants will learn how insurance affects development planning and how sustainable building practices enhance a community’s ability to thrive. Leaders will share information on housing markets and will provide an overview of one community that rebuilt green after a natural disaster destroyed much of its infrastructure.
