Detroit, MI; La Salle, Level 5, Detroit Marriott at Renaissance Center
Planning has the unique power to bring people and groups together, and to get them talking about the things that matter. However, it doesn’t always go smoothly. How do you strike a balance between providing leadership and letting the community drive the process? Once the plan is complete, what happens next? How do you turn plans into reality and move people into implementation?
In this workshop, NeighborWorks Blackstone River Valley Program Officer Ainsley Morisseau and LISC program officer Carrie Zaslow and will discuss how the Woonsocket, RI community developed an integrated, comprehensive quality of life plan that was embraced by both the community and the local government. The NeighborWorks America Stable Communities Initiative will host the workshop and Eileen Figel, Director of the Institute for Comprehensive Community Development, will moderate the discussion.
