Learn How Federal Policies Affect Good Planning

DATE:
SEPTEMBER 30, 2012 - 9:00 AM to OCTOBER 2, 2012 - 5:00 PM ET

LOCATION:
Washington, DC

Plans for housing, infrastructure, transportation and green space are all affected by federal decision makers.  This upcoming event - American Planning Association's Federal Policy and Program Briefing - will provide opportunities to learn about new federal policies and a chance to speak with representatives about the need for smart planning. The event will include a Daniel Burnham Forum on Big Ideas, a federal policy and program briefing, and a planners day. The Big Ideas forum will look at issues and challenges that communities face, with ideas on how to guide our communities with creativity, energy and innovation.  The policy and program briefing will include details on economic recovery, federal grant making, building strong communities via planning, using transportation policy to transform cities and more.  Planners day gives planners an opportunity to urge their representatives to vote for policies that strengthen planning and help communities.  Learn more
