Statistical issues and ways to determine “causal effects” of policies and programs will be examined at an upcoming training session hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas in partnership with Southern Methodist University.   Topics include the conceptual issues behind program and policy evaluation, how to design randomized experiments, working with observational data and data mining.  In addition, participants will explore case studies about evaluation as it relates to policy making, private enterprise and nonprofits.   A recorded session will be available for those who cannot attend.
