National Conference on Ending Family and Youth Homelessness

FEBRUARY 18, 2014 - 11:15 AM to FEBRUARY 19, 2014 - 5:00 PM ET

New Orleans, LA

Join experts from around the country to learn up-to-date strategies for ending homelessness. Workshops at the National Conference on Ending Family and Youth Homelessness are designed to provide participants with a progressive set of sessions, each building on the one before.

The Advocacy Track is for those who want to improve their advocacy skills and better understand the impact of federal budget cuts, advocacy at the state level and local movements to end homelessness. The Systems Track is geared toward community leaders who oversee and coordinate help for homeless in communities and includes topics such as governance, assessment, improving outcomes and building collaborative funding plans. The Youth Track for System Planners and Program Directors is for planners and program directors that are focused on solving homelessness for youth, and a similar track with the same focus is available for front line staff. The Veterans Track is for those helping veterans and their families, the Rapid Re-Housing Track focuses on the rapid re-housing strategy, and the Funders Track is for funders who want to create change and build systems with better results and solutions.

Overall topics include ending homelessness, creating effective help for families, funding options, case management ideas, creating systems flow, improving economic self-sufficiency, homelessness in rural areas and more. Many opportunities will be available for networking and group discussion. The event is hosted by the National Alliance to End Homelessness.
