National Main Streets Conference to Focus on Rediscovering Main Street

DATE:
APRIL 1, 2012 - 8:30 AM to APRIL 4, 2012 - 5:30 PM ET

LOCATION:
Baltimore, MD

As small business districts along Main Streets make a comeback through “shop local” campaigns and a growing displeasure for sprawling development, local communities need to start thinking about what it takes to invest in small businesses and how they can help create healthy, resilient communities.  This four-day session will focus on these strategies and feature Amy Cortese – an award-winning journalist – as the keynote speaker. In addition, The National Symposium on Arts/Culture/Entertainment Districts will take place on April 4 and 5 and bring together policy makers, practitioners and artists to talk about the economic, social and cultural importance of designated arts and entertainment districts and their potential as a revitalization strategy.  To learn more, click here
