MAY 12, 2014 - 8:30 AM to MAY 14, 2014 - 5:30 PM ET

Philadelphia, PA

“Reinventing Older Communities” is the theme of this biennial conference for community developers, lenders, government practitioners, funders, researchers and policymakers. Sponsored by the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, the conference focus is on “Bridging Growth and Opportunity.” Participants will tour local development work in Philadelphia, plus join plenary luncheons, workshops and break-out sessions. Topics include tools to achieve greater equity, inclusive growth, how changes in demographics impact urban revival, current market changes, and how entrepreneurs are reinventing cities.  Additional sessions will focus on how governments can do more with less, strategies for promoting financial inclusion and supporting artists as agents of neighborhood change. Participants will learn sustainable practices, ways to measure impact, methods for connecting hard-to-serve populations with jobs, and innovations in funding and financing. They will also learn about new lending opportunities in the changed mortgage market and economic development tools that work.
