The conference is taking place in one of the country's most bike-friendly cities - Long Beach, CA - which boasts 130 miles of bike trails, has created bike boulevards and bike-friendly business districts, and has installed 1,200 new bike racks. Over 1,000 people are expected to attend the conference including planners, engineers, advocates, civic leaders, government officials, public health professionals, architects and landscape architects. Keynote speakers include Denmark's Bicycle Ambassador, Mikael Colville-Anderson; the founder and president of Project for Public Spaces, Fred Kent; the president and CEO of Congress for the New Urbanism, John Norquist and others.
