Private Equity Capital: Understanding and Navigating the Options

Learn strategies for raising private equity capital at this how-to workshop hosted by the Urban Land Institute.  The course will help participants understand the real estate private equity market and better understand the process for raising capital for various efforts. Facilitators will walk participants through the process step-by-step, teaching them how to identify assets for raising capital, position assets effectively, develop the organization’s ‘story,’ and prepare a proposal for different sources of capital. Providers of capital will offer insights, tips and information about current financial conditions, plus offer criteria for investment and information on the legal agreements needed for successful capital campaigns. Trainers will cover how to negotiate and design a successful joint venture agreement and establish an effective timeline. Case studies will help participants understand the process and opportunities.
