Making sure private sector development doesn’t displace low-income residents or create social inequity is one essential feature of Community Benefit Agreements (CBAs). Learn more about CBAs – which have proven to be an effective way for communities to ensure such protections – at this NeighborWorks eClassroom training “Turning Lemons to Lemonade: The Power of Community Benefit Agreements.”  This 90-minute training will show the difference between public and private CBAs and outline the strengths and weaknesses of both. Trainers will identify which entities need to be involved in the development stage of CBAs and will provide real-life examples to explore issues that can arise during negotiations. They’ll also provide strategies for successful implementation and methods for creating equitable outcomes.

This online session features supportive resource materials, ‘check and reflect’ activities, interactive poling and Q/A with faculty. Participants will receive a certificate of completion after taking the quiz at the end of the session.
