Workshop: Using Donations and Other Vacant Properties In Comprehensive Neighborhood Stabilization Strategies

DATE:
AUGUST 20, 2013 - 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM ET

LOCATION:
Philadelphia, PA - NeighborWorks NTI

Across the nation, leading housing providers are finding innovative uses for very low value properties that promote community stabilization and increase the scalability of their revitalization efforts. In collaboration with federal and state governments, financial institutions, and other community stakeholders – such as Veteran Service Organizations – these providers are finding ways to renew, reuse and leverage donated properties and pre-foreclosure low value distressed assets to create a path to neighborhood stability. This session will discuss this strategy and the opportunities and challenges it creates in rebuilding communities recovering from the housing crisis.
